Case Study: Telecoms Company

Profile

The client, a large telecommunications company, rang ADTEC with a problem. They had promised an important customer that their new wireless telephone network would handle their audio conferencing needs. When the installation was nearly finished, the technical people called in the sales people and informed them this was not the case.

Technical Issues/Challenges

A system was required which could interface to the wireless telephone network and handle all the client's audio conferencing needs. It had to appear seamless to the users and allow the internal use of conferencing over the network. Most importantly, it had to be installed in a very short time frame, as the rest of the system was about ready for cut-over.

Solution

ADTEC pulled out all the stops and had a TeleBridge ready to install in just one week. It was a basic TeleBridge which interfaced to the wireless switch via an E1 2Mb digital trunk card. It gave the customer an immediate 30 ports of conference capability on their network, with the system appearing to the user as if it was another standard feature of their network.

TeleBridge comes as standard with both dial-in and dial-out capability as well as the option to add operator software, configuration programming and user logging/billing.

Benefits

The customer now has a custom-built solution, providing an audio conferencing capability significantly greater than the conference card originally envisaged in the switch. The customer will be able to run larger and more varied conferences with better control over costs and utilisation.
