Case Study: Stockbroker

Profile

The client is a multinational stockbroker, and part of a worldwide finance group. To operate effectively in a competitive and constantly changing market it relies on communication through regular staff briefings and daily contact between brokers.

Client Requirements

As part of a relocation to new premises and a fitout of the trading area, a communication system was required for each broker to receive public address, staff announcements, ASX information and to have an additional channel for future use.

In addition, two conference areas were to be fitted out with audio/visual equipment. One of these areas was for staff briefings for 120 staff with the second conference area being for management meetings. As part of the re-location, 6 ceiling-mounted TVs were to be taken from the old trading area and installed in the new.

Solution

Multi channel speaker boxes were designed, manufactured and installed within the required period. The six TVs were removed and installed in the new trading area.

A rack was located in a room at the rear of the large meeting room with teleconferencing and projection equipment installed. Cabling was then run for ceiling speakers and microphones and the equipment installed.

The console was then wired and tested to ensure correct operation.

The required equipment was then installed in the management meeting room.

Benefits

The client now has a staff briefing area where daily meetings are held and presentations made using the latest technology. Ceiling mounted speakers and microphones ensure all information is clearly heard both inside the room and in any other area linked to it.

The brokers can receive vital information at their consoles from a multi-channel speaker box which is always on.

Management meetings are held in an area which can be divided into two meeting rooms, both equipped with audio conferencing and the larger with electronic whiteboard, TV, video and DVD.
